Millwork: Options & Orientations

We offer a rich array of surface material millwork options for our custom wood entry doors. Select from genuine 4- and 6-inch V-groove, beaded, flush-face and square groove profiles, to name a few. For painted doors with a smooth, flat surface, we recommend exterior-grade medium density fiberboard (MDF.)  We also create custom profiles. Working from a drawing or a sample, we will mill the profile to precise specifications.

You can also complement the home by using horizontal or vertical orientations, or an angled orientation such as a herringbone pattern.

Trim Options

Trim boards add a finishing touch to your custom wood entry doors, whether rugged, old-world crossbucks or graceful curves that follow the sweep of a window design.

Options include horizontal boards, vertical boards, full bucks, A- or V-half bucks, and curved half bucks. Other ways to customize trim boards include varying the height and width of the boards, creating different shapes, and mounting the boards in various locations. With a custom entry door, your choices are unlimited.

APPLIED TRIM OPTIONS

We also offer a variety of options for decorative trim that can be applied to your trim boards.  Below are our standard options for decorative trim boards.

Custom Wood Entry Door Construction Techniques

Standard Rail and Stile Construction This standard construction method uses a solid core framework to give high strength and durability to our doors. This flexibility allows you to have an almost unlimited configuration of panels and windows.  Flexible enough to be a good fit for whatever style home you have and decorative enough for front and back entry doors.

Solid Core Construction Perfect for the Southwest, Tuscan, Mediterranean or even Tudor look, the solid core allows for the window to be inset into the door in a central spot for the look that is so unique to those particular styles of homes.  Dress the window up with a decorative window grill, or put decorative glass in it for extra emphasis.  This style has well deserved popularity.
